No Genetic Engineering
We do not use genetically modified material in our products.
This means that we:
- do not use genetically modified animal and plants, or their constituents or metabolic products
- do not use any products or constituents of animals or plants that have been treated with genetically engineered or modified substances
- do not use any genetically modified
micro-organisms (e.g. lactobacilli, yeast, etc.) or their metabolic products (e.g. enzymes, flavourings, rennet, etc.)
This applies to all products and all processing
steps of a product, as well as all active ingredients, excipients and
additives used in the production process.
Suppliers of raw materials, intermediates and end products to Bioforce are also bound by this policy.
The development and application of genetic engineering is so far advanced that some specific foods, ingredients and raw materials are being produced or manufactured using genetic engineered procedures. Examples include Soya, yeast, rape, enzymes and vitamins. In some areas, it is now seen that foods and raw
materials, produced or manufactured ‘traditionally’ and by ‘genetic engineering’ are marketed and processed side by side.
