14 Day Detox

Ali says:

Exercise needs to be consistent rather than extreme: doing 10 minutes every single day is better than an hour once a fortnight.

Move along there...

Did you know that a sluggish circulatory system impedes immune function? The white blood cells that make up your immune system’s mobile army can’t patrol your body properly if the bloodstream is more like a stagnant pond than a swiftly flowing torrent. You’ll also see sluggishness reflected in your skin, which will be paler and duller without a sprightly blood flow bringing it oxygen and other nutrients and taking away wastes. On top of this, reducing the blood flow to your head makes it harder for you to concentrate and shine – oxygenate your brain and feel the fatigue lift and the bright ideas start to sparkle.

If you have a sedentary job, make a note to jump up and move around for a few minutes every hour on the hour. If you have the option, go for a quick trot along the corridor or up and down some stairs, just to get the oxygen flowing again. At the very least, stretch, do some long, deep breaths, and try circling your ankles and flexing your feet to get things moving.

Exercise needs to be consistent rather than extreme: doing 10 minutes every single day is better than an hour once a fortnight. Find a couple of things you like from our list of suggestions and slot them in every day.

If you struggle to concentrate or find studying distracting, try Ginkgo biloba

If your skin is sensitive and throws out the odd spot, try Echinacea Cream

Vitamin C is also extremely good for brightening up your skin, so munch on those fresh fruits and vegetables.

Superfood for skin

The humble carrot is full to the brim with goodies, packing a beta-carotene punch for your skin, eyes and respiratory system. Don’t count your wrinkles – counter them with regular carrot dishes that serve up increased levels of red blood cells. Vitamins C and E are also found in the carroty mix, and both are excellent for skin health.

Carrot soup, carrot salad, roasted carrots – there are numerous ways of getting a regular nibble at this nutritious marvel. Carrots used to be purple, by the way. You can sometimes still find them in this glorious colouring, with a gorgeously rich creamy orange inside.
