background

Could I be menopausal? I've had hot sweats for a while now but they only occur every now and then. My periods are every few months but sometimes they will return to being regular again for a couple of months. My doctor said that I was starting the menopause but I have had thyroid problems for a few years now.

You won’t get the menopause the minute you turn 50! The average starting age is actually between 45 and 55 and it can often depend on a number of factors including hereditary, weight and health, however every single woman will have an individual menopause.
