background

Normally my period is very regular, lasting 4-5 days without any problems. My period is now 2 weeks late and I've done a pregnancy test. The result was negative but I do sometimes have unprotected sex with my partner. I will be 48 years old next month and I've had no menopausal symptoms so far. I have been under a lot of stress at work so could this be the start of the chance, or my body being out of sync due to my stress levels? I am going on holiday next week so maybe a week in the sun might help, but this is really playing on my mind. I would appreciate your help

You won’t get the menopause the minute you turn 50! The average starting age is actually between 45 and 55 and it can often depend on a number of factors including hereditary, weight and health, however every single woman will have an individual menopause.
