Health Food Industry Lunch
The event, always an excellent mix of education and socialising, was hosted by HFI Chairman Liz Chandler and attended by around 100 Health Food Institute Members, industry leaders and health food retailers and the trade press. The Jack Noah Memorial Lecture, delivered by Jan de Vries, was very well received by the audience.

Jan de Vries received The James Henry Cook Award for his outstanding contribution to natural health, and complementary and alternative medicine.

Other Awards included the election of three new Fellows of the Health Food Institute in recognition of their strong commitment to building the standards and the strength of the health food industry, receiving Fellowship Certificates

The two Jimmy Lee-Richardson Awards were presented by David Adams on behalf of the HFMA. The Jimmy Lee-Richardson Diploma Award for the top mark (2007) went to Aoife Calnan, Evergreen, Galway. Muriel McMurray of Ashdene Health, Newry, N. Ireland received the Jimmy Lee-Richardson Continual Professional Development Award.

The Teddie Marston Award is presented each year to the candidate who has shown exceptional understanding of the principles of health food and natural healing. This year’s recipient was Finn Murray, The Hopsack, Rathmines, Ireland. 

After lunch Brian McLoughlin rounded off a most enjoyable and memorable day.
