A.Vogel Dormeasan Short Story Competition
Competition Rules 2012
- The A.Vogel Dormeasan Short Story Competition 2012 will run from 1 April to 31 October 2012. Entries can be submitted any time during this period, but must be received no later than midday on 31 October 2012.
- Four prizes will be awarded – First £500, Second £300, two third place prizes £100 each. Any entries that the judges Highly Commend will receive £50.
- Competition winners will be announced in Your Healthy Living in spring 2013 and published online on www.avogel.co.uk/story and www.yourhealthyliving/.co.uk
- Entry is free and open to UK residents aged over 16 only.
- Individuals may submit a maximum of three stories.
- Submitted entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been previously published in third party publications.
- ‘Pick of the Month’ stories will be featured online on both websites with a brief extract published in Your Healthy Living. The entrant will receive £50. These stories will appear with the entrant’s pseudonym and so will remain eligible for consideration for the main prizes. Some stories shortlisted for Pick of the Month may appear on Facebook for a public vote (entrants will be informed and can opt out).
- The competition is not open to members of A.Vogel or Your Healthy Living staff or their families.
- Entries should be in English, double spaced, with pages numbered, and with a minimum length of 1,500 words and maximum 3,000 words. Apart from erotica, there is no restriction on subject matter.
- Entries should be submitted by email to story@jhnproductions.co.uk using Microsoft Word. Entries can also be accepted by post. Two copies and the entry form should be addressed to:A.Vogel Short Story Competition,Your Healthy Living

Cambridgeshire, CB21 4EN. - Every entry, whether emailed or posted, must be accompanied by a fully completed entry form, available online at www.yourhealthyliving.co.uk/storyenter or www.avogel.co.uk/story. Postal entries will not be returned so please keep a copy. No corrections can be made after receipt.
- Email entries will be acknowledged electronically within 28 days of receipt. If you require acknowledgement of receipt of a postal entry, please enclose a stamped addressed postcard marked ‘Acknowledgement’.
- No competitor may win more than one overall main prize. The judges' decision is final and no individual correspondence can be entered into.
- Worldwide copyright of each entry remains with the author and the author hereby grants, without limit to time, JHN Productions Ltd and Bioforce (UK) Ltd absolute and irrevocable licence to publish any story, either in full or as an excerpt, on any websites belonging to, in whole or in part, to either JHN Productions Ltd or Bioforce (UK) Ltd, and furthermore on any website that JHN Productions or Bioforce (UK) Ltd see fit to publish said works and in any subsequent anthology. Winners and runners up must be prepared to take part in reasonable publicity which at the minimum will require the supply of a suitable picture and quote for publication.
- Submission of an entry to the A.Vogel Dormeasan Short Story Competition 2012 implies acceptance of all the rules of the competition.
