Skinny products – don’t be fooled! ?❌
Thinking you’re having the best shot at your summer diet? If a product is bragging about being ‘skinny’, it means it’s processed and unlikely to be healthy, in my book. And health is worth more than simply achieving a calorie deficit. We’re all in our healthy era’s, right!?
What actually are 'skinny' or 'diet' products?
'Skinny’ or ‘light’ products often refer to items having less fat. Is this a good thing? Well not necessarily if you'd dipped into my blogs of videos before.
Fat certainly shouldn't be demonised - especually when it's naturally occurring in foods. Fats are the building blocks for our hormones, our body cells, and help our nerves to work properly - to name just a few roles. So, with products that have had the natural fats removed - first of all, this means it’s been processed, tampered with, taking it away from it’s natural form, (as nature intended and what your body is more likely to recognise) and what do they contain more of, in many cases?
Sugars, sweeteners, (still fats, in many cases, surprisingly… but yucky ones at that), additives - and all of these are much more detrimental than healthy fats, let me tell you.
Healthy fats shouldn’t be feared – fish, olive oil, nuts, avocados, eggs, to name a few… these will all help to keep us fuller for longer, are anti-inflammatory and basically, the more of these wholefoods we eat, the less room we have for the processed ones mocked up in a lab – result! ????
