Check nowNettle is a natural antihistamine that can inhibit some of the inflammatory processes that lead to allergic rhinitis symptoms such as congestion and itchy skin.
This is something I recently wrote about in my blog 'How does nettle help your allergies?' if you would like more information.
Nettle tea is widely available in health food stores and supermarkets, however, if you want to try making some yourself, there are an abundance of recipes online.
My top tips for picking nettle from your garden are as follows:
- Always wear gloves thick gloves and long sleeves to prevent getting stung
- Wash the plant thoroughly before cooking
- Remember that nettles are best eaten before they flower in May.
Here at A.Vogel, we also have our Stinging Nettle tincture which is made from freshly harvested plants which can be taken twice daily in a little water.
