The blood takes longer to circulate to the extremities which explains why the nose gets cold easily. Also, the outer parts of the human nose are composed mostly of cartilage tissue covered by a relatively thin layer of skin and minimal amounts of insulating fat, so the nose becomes cold much more easily than other areas, such as the legs or belly. The ears have a similar problem!
