Check nowThere can be a number of reasons for an itchy throat. The most likely are:
1. Infection – these are most commonly viral and give rise to the infetions we call the common cold or flu. An itchy throat is often an early symptom of these infections. If this is the case, we would recommend the use of Echinacea.
2. Allergic rhinitis – reaction to air-borne particles known as allergens can give rise to what we call allergic rhinitis. In temperate climates, this is usually seen as hayfever, but allergies to other particles such as animal fur or house-dust mite can give an itchy throat. If this is the case, we would recommend the use of our anti-allergy remedy Pollinosan
3. Food allergies - less commonly, a food allergy or intolerance can lead to an itchy throat. Some of these food allergies can bring about quite dramatic reactions (such as with a nut allergy) so if you have such a condition, you should seek urgent help from your doctors.
Of course, there can be other reasons for an itchy throat and if your symptoms remain unexplained or worsen, seek help from your doctors.
