Missing periods are often one of the first indications that you are approaching the menopause and you are in the average age range 45-55.
Several things could happen:
1. your periods may have just stopped for good and that's it.
2.You may miss them for several months then get one or two back again then they stop again, then come back then stop again and so on - this phase could just last a few months or could go on for several years.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to tell as it is different for every woman!
