I am 41 and have never had kids, 3 months ago I got hot flushes and my period dissapeared. The hot flushes have gone away but my periods have not come back. I am on no medication. I also gained a bit of weight but I am not pregnant. Is it the beginning of menopause?

41 is still a bit young to be starting the menopause although it can happen occasionally.

Your symptoms could be due to other factors such as stress, low iron or low thyroid so it is best to get this checked by your doctor.

They may also be able to test your hormone levels and that would give you a good idea as to what is happening.
