background

I had an early hysterectomy and I've been on HRT patches for 12 years. I turned 60 last month and decided to try without them again. I have tried many times but the hot sweats are so severe that the doctor agreed that it was okay for me to stay on. I really want to stop as the effect of HRT has such a negative impact on my life. Any suggestions?

You won’t get the menopause the minute you turn 50! The average starting age is actually between 45 and 55 and it can often depend on a number of factors including hereditary, weight and health, however every single woman will have an individual menopause.
