Many women do find it hard to lose weight during the menopause, and this is often caused by a problem metabolising carbs.
You may find reducing carbs and increasing protein and veg helpful. You can read more about this in 'The Low GL Diet' or the 'Paleo Diet'.
Exercise at this point is very important, even a brisk 30 min walk a day can be of benefit. You would need to speak to your doctor about the HRT and stent.
If you continue to feel ill it is important to see your doctor; low iron and low thyroid can often appear at this stage and both can cause fatigue, low mood, sleep problems.
