Changing periods are often one of the first signs that you are approaching the menopause and you are in the average age range, 45-55, so it is possible.
Periods at this point can come and go, with months in-between.
This is also when you can start to experience menopause symptoms. You may find Menopause Support helpful as this is traditionally used to help gently raise and balance oestrogen thus reducing symptoms.
I would also add in a magnesium and a vitamin B Complex to help support your system generally.
Falling oestrogen can affect the metabolism causing weight gain so cutting carbohydrates right down and focusing more on protein and vegtables can often help.
