My last period was on the 2nd June 2013. I am 53 years old with 4 children. I have booked an appointment to see my doctor as I don't want to use contraceptives anymore. Do I need a hormone test to see if it is safe?

You are normally considered safe from pregnancy after not having had any periods for 2 years.

Until that point it is advisable to keep using precautions, just in case!
