This is quite a common symptom. The skin in the vaginal area is very thin and elastic and when your hormonal balance starts to change towards the menopause this can affect the skin. It may lose its natural bacterial balance, which can then result in dryness, irritation and/or itchiness. I would suggest Molkosan and a probiotic taken internally to help restore this balance, and herbs such as Siberian Ginseng or Maca to help with dryness. Many women find that creams such as Calendula Cream are soothing, and doing the Kegel Exercises every day helps to strengthen and tone the whole the area.
