This is really common in pregnancy, as mothers-to-be can often end up with a really acute sense of smell, sometimes loving smells that are usually quite horrible, and others really hating smells of foods etc that they used to love.
This also applies to taste as well - I love tea but I can remember whilst pregnant even the thought of a cup of tea made me feel sick! This is due to a specific balance of hormones during pregnancy, so it can also happen as your hormones start to wind down.
Although not as common in the menopause, it does happen and this should start to fade the further through the menopause you are!
All you can really do is accept that you can smell it but, as no-one else can, it shouldn't really be an issue. Worrying about this can also put further stress on your hormones making it worse!
