Sporadic periods such as this are common on the approach to the menopause and may go on for a few years before your periods finally stop.
However, really heavy periods are not good for you and can cause anaemia which in turn can cause fatigue, low mood and poor sleep so if it happens again it is best to speak to your doctor.
