Yes, I'm afraid so! The chemicals they use to decaffeinate the coffee have a negative effect too and cause problems, as well as the caffeine.
Coffee and chocolate are probably the most chemically sprayed crops on the planet and some of these chemicals will end up in the finished product so the less chemical overload you get the better.
A lot of women worry about giving up tea and coffee. Since caffeine can be very addictive when I recommend cutting down on the amount of these drinks you consume I usually say to start decreasing the amount you drink over a couple of weeks, rather than cutting them straight away.
If you feel that you do need a coffee then I recommend trying an organic one. Also, try to keep your coffee intake to the morning, so that it doesn't impact your sleep as much.
As well as coffee, there are a few other drinks to be careful of during menopause. You can find out more about them in my blog '5 drinks that can upset your menopause'.
If you are looking for alternatives to try instead, you could try our Bambu coffee substitute drink, green tea (which contains caffeine, but not as much), herbal teas like chamomile and peppermint, and not to forget plain, still water.
