You are considered through the menopause and safe from pregnancy after not having had any periods for 2 years. Before that point it is still advisable to use some form of contraception.
The signs of pregnancy, although very rare once your periods have been absent for a while, would be slightly more difficult to tell as you would have no loss of periods as a tell-tale sign and other symptoms such as nausea, breast tenderness, bloating are common menopause symptoms too!
If you suspect that you are pregnant you would need to do the usual pregnancy test.
