The most important thing is to keep your skin well moisturised.
In the menopause, our skin tends to dry out and if you have a flush there will be a much bigger impact on your make up if your skin is dry.
I would suggest using only pure or organic skin creams and I would also suggest taking Sea Buckthorn Oil Capsules; these are known to keep the skin moisturised, just Google for more info on this.
Dehydration is a major cause of dry skin in the menopause so it is important to drink lots every day - coffee, tea, alcohol, and fizzy/sugary drinks all cause dry skin so they are best avoided!
There are lots of different kinds of make up but you could look at waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and eye shadows - ones that you would normally take on holiday.
I personally would not use foundation as I think the skin needs to breathe if you are getting hot flushes, but if you need to you can get waterproof ones as well.
The new mineral powders would be good too. Most big department stores would have these kinds of make up so maybe have a visit and ask around several brands to see which would be best for you.
