It's thankfully not obligatory to experience 'full on' symptoms - lots of women don't. Several of my colleagues have skipped through the whole process with hardly any symptoms at all.
You can treat the symptoms as they occur, so for example you could take extra magnesium (try Salus Haus Floradix magnesium liquid which is available at most health stores and tastes great) to counter the irritability and make sure you are prioritising your sleep.
Once your periods disappear properly you may notice some other symptoms, but again it isn't always a problem and sometimes they just go and after 2 years you are safe to assume they won't ever return.
