Yes, this sounds like a progression to fibromyalgia.
Bear in mind that fibromyalgia isn't an illness as such - it's not an infection or a specific injury, but more a collection of aches and pains all around the body, often caused by muscle tension (in your case possibly from the original back injury, as you hold yourself differently to try to minimise the pain) or mild oxygen deprivation.
When we're in pain we often breath faster and more shallowly, which isn't great for oxygenating the tissues.
Another problem can be lack of magnesium, which increases our pain perception and also makes it harder for muscles to relax.
