Though it might not feel like it, 7 months is probably considered a long period of time before someone seeks help. I'm sure it feels like 7 years.
We don't know so much about you from your question, so bear with us if we offer a few suggestions, some of which may not apply to you.
Menopausal arthritis is a form of joint pain and debilitation driven by hormonal changes. It is temporary (as with the changes) and will resolve itself if this relates to your situation. The thing is with the menopause, oestrogen is a bit of a pain killer, so women will notice every niggle going all the more around this time. Add to that poor sleep and things become intolerable.
Fibromyalgia affects both the muscles and the more fibrous tendons and ligaments associated with the bones and joints. Most commonly it affects those aged between 30 and 60. You haven't mentioned other symptoms but if sleep is poor, you experience headaches or IBS, fibromyalgia might be a good place to start.
In the meantime, do consider some Atrogel® to be applied externally and some Atrosan® Devil's Claw tablets. They are both licensed for muscular and joint aches and pains and have no interactions with any medicines you might be taking.
From another angle, either Valerian or the mineral magnesium can help relax muscles.
Best wishes,
Earle Logan
