Just how healthy are your muscles and joints?
Answer our questions and find out if your flexibility is compromised.
Find out how flexible you areHello, of course, that's no problem. This dose of magnesium would be fine, and actually, if anything, we would say that you could take a little more. We often recommend taking around 200-400mg of magnesium daily but if there is an underlying health concern such as osteoarthritis, we'd tend to go with the upper end of this, so perhaps up to 400mg daily. As you may suspect, a steady daily dose is thought to be preferable when it comes to minerals, rather than just taking it every few days. I would therefore recommend taking magnesium every day rather than every few days.
Some other tips would be to go for a liquid or powder formula which means the magnesium will be better absorbed. Also, certain forms of magnesium are thought to be more readily absorbed than others so a pure magnesium citrate product may be preferable to magnesium oxide, for example, which isn't though to be so well absorbed. Magnesium gluconate is another favourable option to look out for.
Although we don't sell any higher strength magnesium products, some options I often recommend are as follows:
