I think the two conditions would be pretty difficult to confuse as fibromyalgia affects the body so widely. See the distribution of tender areas by viewing the trigger points.
Lumbago, in contrast, is centred on the lower back although if the muscle tension associated with it cause a nerve to be trapped, it may cause sciatica pain to travel down the legs too.
