Find out how flexible you areThere is little research to suggest that cracking joints can contribute to arthritis, though some people with arthritis do experience the problem. If your joints crack regularly and this is accompanied by pain you should speak to your doctor or a physio. Cracking your joints should never be something you do intentionally on a regular basis though, of course, it often happens without our control, usually after an extended period in the same position.
Some other, more common risk factors for arthritis include: age, a family history of the problem and injury to the joint.
To minimise cracking in the joints, try to keep moving regularly. If you are working or are doing another sedentary activity like watching television, aim to get out your seat every hour or so and do some stretching. You may find the guide below helpful:
