This month I have suffered from a migraine a week prior to my period, sore breasts two weeks before, low mood a few days before and a very heavy flow. Is it PMS? I am 51.

These do sound like PMS symptoms, however, given your age I'd say that they are more than likely to be menopause symptoms. Have you read our menopause pages?

Your GP can do a hormone test and help to confirm whether it is indeed menopausal.
