Did you know?
In some circumstances you can calm your eczema symptoms by making small amendments to your diet?
Change your diet to help control eczemaFirst of all, there are many things that may contribute to this symptom. If you know some possible irritants, it may be the case that you can take steps to eliminate them, or at least reduce their likelihood of causing symptoms.
Some possible triggers for itchy skin are:
- allergies (including those to animal dander, pollen, mould and dust)
- body care products (such as shower gels, bubble baths, deodorants etc.)
- diet
- stress.
You can find out more about the causes of itchy skin in our blog 'Why the sudden itch?'.
If you are looking for ways to ease this symptom, I would suggest trying our Neem Cream. It can have a calming effect on irritated skin. Other than this, it's a good idea to get plenty of omega-3 in your diet to support healthy skin, as well as plenty of vitamin C and E. These nutrients can be found in things like salmon, kiwi and avocado. I would also suggest you drink plenty of water and try a couple of cups of nettle tea a day as nettles counter histamine and cleanse the bloodstream.
