background

I am 47 and peri-menopausal and am experiencing very low mood. I've been taking thyroxine for hypothyroidism since 1998 and wonder if I can take St Johns Wort or if there is something else I can take? I'm feeling more down and low than stressed, and one of the major problems I have is getting up out of bed in the morning. I feel so tired and low it's difficult. My thyroid function has been good and very steady for the last 4-5 years and I've just seen my consultant in July. He's very happy with my thyroid, therefore I'm putting my feelings down to peri-menopause and the symptoms I've been experiencing.
