A panic attack is generally triggered by heightened anxiety, usually through an anxiety provoking event. The event that causes anxiety will vary tremendously from person to person but tends to come from one of the following causes:
- A genetic predisposition
- Anxious patterns developed in childhood
- High stress levels over a pro-longed period of time
- Medical/physical causes
