Changing periods are often one of the first signs that you are approaching the menopause.
Periods at this point can vary between heavy and light, on time, late, early, missing, long, short, or in any combination! For some women this scenario can go on for some time before their periods stop for good.
However, heavy periods over time are not good for you and can cause fatigue, low mood, poor sleep etc. If this continues, it is best to get it checked out by your doctor as well.
