This is very common on the approach to the menopause; but as your symptoms seem quite severe it would be a good idea to see your doctor for a check-up before taking any remedies. Drink plenty of water to avoid worsening the situation by being dehydrated (this is a key cause of palpitations), and if it is confirmed as the menopause then consider taking an extract of Sage to control the flushes and sweats.
