I am 45 years old. I still got my periods every month but in the last three years in the summer I get extremely hot. I can’t cope with the heat - it seems like I am constantly sweating. I have to say we have high humidity levels and very high temperatures here, but I wanted to know if this was a sign of menopause or peri menopause and when you start getting symptoms how long until your period stops?

The peri-menopause can last for several years until your periods stop completely, in this stage your hormone levels are starting to change and can make you more sensitive to lots of things including temperature.

It is impossible to say how long this stage will last - it may be 1 year or 5 years, every woman will have their own individual time scale.

You could look at sage tablets or tincture to help when you do get these symptoms and a good female multivit supplement may help to support your system as well.
