I’m 49 and have been going through the menopause for two years. I am not sleeping due to hot flashes. I have also gained 2 stone in weight can you please give me some advice on treatments. I was told about black cohosh is this any good?

Weight gain in the menopause is common and can often be put down to a problem metabolising carbs.

I would suggest cutting down on carbs and increasing protein and veg, have a read up on the Paleo Diet or the Low GL Diet for more info on this.

Black cohosh can often be of benefit so worth trying for a couple of months to see if it helps.
