Celebrating 50 years of natural health

When I started working with A.Vogel a mere three months ago, I was somewhat astounded to hear other employees explaining that they had been with the company for a decade, two decades, or more. From the very start of my time with A.Vogel, I understood that my colleagues weren’t part of the company simply because they had a job, but because A.Vogel is true to its mission statement in every respect, continuing the work of a remarkable man and also valuing the people who keep it alive.

This, for me, was brought to light during the 50th anniversary of Bioforce/A.Vogel. Last month, an excited murmur spread though A.Vogel UK HQ as employees were notified of the imminent arrival of Mrs. Vogel, the late Alfred Vogel’s wife Mrs. Vogel is the top Swiss director of A.Vogel, and it was an honour that she choose to celebrate the golden jubilee in the UK. Accompanying her would be Jan de Vries. He had worked closely with Alfred Vogel for around 30 years, and continues to promote the values which Alfred Vogel established.

Mrs. Vogel and Jan de Vries arrived on Monday. From this point, I feel that I may be able to describe the events, and elements of the speeches that were given, but the emotion and the passion that was left in the heart of A.Vogel UK can never be replicated in words.

From the offset, it was understood that this was not simply a celebration of the company but also of the life of Alfred Vogel – the two are, of course, hand in hand. Vogel was a pioneer in natural health for more than 50 years, and truly understood the healing powers of nature. Jan de Vries illustrated some of his experiences with Alfred Vogel, explaining Vogel’s genius that made work with nature so successful. He also spoke about his own recent health ordeal, and how he knows and has proved that he would not be with us today without the work of Alfred Vogel and the herbal remedies he formulated.

Mrs. Vogel further explained the importance of keeping Vogel’s work active today. Around 30 years ago, a foundation was set up bearing Alfred Vogel’s name so that his work could be continued into the future. It was moving to be given an insight into the responsibility that she felt in promoting Vogel’s beliefs throughout the world.

For the employees of A.Vogel, this event can only be described as inspiring. To see dedication and belief that those who knew Vogel most closely have in his remarkable work, and to see that the company has never strayed from what Vogel set out to do almost 100 years ago, perhaps explains a little as to why its employees are so devoted and determined to keep Vogel’s legacy alive.
