Peanut butter is a great food to fuel up on before a 5K or 10K because of its low GI, high carbohydrate and high protein content.
What to eat before a 5K or 10KHi there, this is a big problem for many people nowadays – our busy lives make it near impossible to take time out for ourselves to exercise. You can read our blog ’10 tips on staying fit when you’re super busy’ for further information but for now, here is some helpful advice:
- If you are taking the kids to a class, be it swimming or football, then do an activity for yourself whilst they are occupied. Have you got time to squeeze in an exercise class? Why not jump in the pool for a few lengths whilst your children have their lesson?
- Go for a brisk walk at lunch time – you could even get a few colleagues together and make it a social activity
- Can you walk to school/work/after school clubs instead of driving?
- Get active at the weekend as a family. You can read my blog ‘12 ways to exercise as a family’ for lots of fun ideas!
