Allergies can indeed cause your face to become red, hot and itchy. When the immune system detects an allergen it releases histamine in an attempt to push it out. This increases blood flow to the affected area and results in inflammation. This makes the skin more sensitive than normal so if chemicals from everyday products like sprays and creams land on the area, it can cause more itching and redness than would usually be the case.
Also, itchiness, redness and warmth on the face can occur when allergens land directly on this area as the skin is, once again, more sensitive than normal.
To treat these symptoms I’d recommend you try our Pollinosan Hayfever tablets as these are non-drowsy and can be used alongside other hayfever medications, should you already be on one of them.
