Diet can play a really important part in keeping the immune system healthy. I generally recommend opting for food in its freshest form, but some specific foods that can be helpful include:
- Fresh fruit including kiwi and strawberries – these are full of immune-boosting vitamin C
- Green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale – these have nutrients like vitamin C, A and E which are all good for the immune system
- Mushrooms – help to encourage the production of white blood cells which protect the body from infection
- Oats – contain B vitamins which may boost immunity
- Nuts and seeds – contain plenty of zinc which supports normal immune function.
