The peri-menopause is the time where your hormone levels are beginning to dip in the approach to the menopause.
Many women find that their periods start to change, getting closer together or heavier or further apart or lighter, or a mixture of both; so it is possible you are at this stage.
However, heavy/prolonged periods can cause anaemia, so if this continues it is advisable to see your doctor again.
