The BioSnacky system has two types of seed sprouters. Both are easy to use, simple to clean and dishwasher safe:
- A large, 3 tier germinator
- A small glass germinator
This large seed sprouter (approx. 15cm high, diameter 20.5cm) is made from environmentally friendly acrylic. It consists of three trays for the germination of seeds, a tray for collecting water used to irrigate your seeds and a lid.
With the 3 tier sprouter, you will be able to ‘sow’ your sprouts at staggered intervals – starting every 2 or 3 days. This allows you to have a more consistent supply of sprouts. As one tray of sprouts is ready for harvesting, the others will contain seeds just starting to germinate.
Water the 3 tier germinator from the topmost tray 2 or 3 times daily and see the water drain through all trays via the specially designed plug which uses capillary action to make sure that all layers remain moist, feeding your seeds and sprouts.
This is ideal for the single person or small family. The small glass germinator (approx. 14cm high, diameter 8cm) consists of a glass jar with a high quality lid with drainage holes.
Using the glass germinator is simple – place the seeds in the glass jar, add water, replace the lid and invert the jar so that water drains out again. Do this 2 or 3 times a day.
Whilst suitable for small families, the downside of this small seed sprouter is that you can only grow one batch of sprouts at any one time.

“The drainage holes design could be improved. The seeds keep going towards the drainage and are difficult to remove from there. Eventually they grow roots in the drainage. This is not a problem, the water still runs through, however after each lot the red cap needs to be removed and cleaned.”

“I used your 3 tiered sprouter to grow some sprouts. On the 2nd shelf I put Mung beans and they sprouted within a day. On the top shelf I put a combination of Alfalfa, clover, broccoli and radish (salad mix of sprouting seeds) I waited for 3 days and these seeds didn't sprout and on the 4th day they became covered in mould. I followed directions so I don't understand why they didn't sprout? Can you please give me some advice as to what may have gone wrong? I placed the sprouter in the brightest room in my house (not in sunlight)”
