With just a few simple tweaks, eggy bread can make a healthy Sunday morning treat. Quick and easy to make, this breakfast classic, also known as French toast, is a delicious and energising way to start your day.


Healthy Eggy Bread

  • 2 - 3 eggs
  • 3 slices sourdough rye bread
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 dsp agave syrup (optional)
  • Berries of your choice (optional)
  • Natural yoghurt (optional)


Serve with cherry tomatoes and cottage cheese for a delicious savoury version.

How to make Healthy Eggy Bread

1. Whisk the eggs in a flat bowl.

2. Place the bread in the egg mixture and soak well, coating both sides.

3. Heat a non-stick frying pan and lightly fry the soaked bread until golden on both sides.

4. Serve with a generous sprinkling of cinnamon, some fresh berries, a drizzle of agave syrup and a side of natural yoghurt.
