I asked my doctor if he thought I had BPH and he didn’t seem at all interested in making a diagnosis, saying that it didn’t really matter. However, I don’t enjoy getting up several times in the night for the loo, and I’d like to know if I have BPH so that I could take a remedy for it.

That’s very reasonable. I suggest that you print off the Doctor’s information pack and pay the doctor another visit with it. Explain that you need a diagnosis before you use the product. Hopefully he will then organise this. If he doesn’t then I would suggest asking to see another doctor in the practice.
