Altering the diet is one of the strategies used to improve the symptoms of BPH and protect against any further development of the problem. Our Prostate Hub details the benefits of certain food groups for men with BPH. You can check this out here. However, in the meantime, here is my dietary advice for men with an enlarged prostate:
- Limit your intake of red meat
- Cut down on refined sugar (cakes, biscuits, fizzy juice etc.)
- Eat fresh – pack in loads of vegetables and fruit
- Keep caffeine to a minimum – switch to herbal teas, such as green tea, as an alternative
- Reduce alcohol intake
- Eat plenty of nuts, seeds and fish.
