My doctors will not prescribe HRT to women over the age of 59 because of the risk of breast cancer is this right?

Doctors are less willing to prescribe HRT now because of the possible side effects, and also HRT is supposed to be used to help alleviate symptoms during the menopause which for the majority of women will be over by the time they reach 59.

Menopause-like symptoms after this age may often be caused by other factors such as adrenal fatigue, low iron, low thyroid or low vitamin D so it may be an idea to ask your doctor to test for these if they haven't already done so.
