The strange thing about water retention is that it will happen if you are dehydrated, which seems contradictory.
The body will retain every scrap of water it can if it thinks there's a drought. Additionally, anxiety will be far more severe if you are dehydrated - palpitations and a dry mouth and other anxiety symptoms are also signs of dehydration.
It is very likely that you have lost way too much water during your night sweats, and this is making your fluid retention and anxiety worse.
It's really, really important to drink sufficient water to rectify the situation. You need at least 1.5 litres of plain, still water daily, probably more at the moment, whilst the weather is warm and you are getting your levels topped back up.
Don't drink it with meals though - have it at least 20 minutes away from food, to avoid getting bloated.
Then I suggest drinking 2-3 cups of Golden Rod tea daily, which is excellent for keeping fluid balanced. Avoid salty foods too, and don't put salt onto your meals. Keep off caffeine as well, until things have improved.
To stop the sweats, try an extract of Sage, and take the dose in the evening.
