Hello I'm 49 and havent had a period for coming up to 8 weeks. This has happened before about 6 months ago but was only two weeks late. Although there is no blood I have a very light brown discharge. Is this ok, or something to see the doctor about?

This is a very common scenario on the approach to the menopause and usually nothing to worry about. Missing periods are often one of the first signs of hormonal change and many women experience spotting/discharge. However, if you start to get discomfort or it gets heavier and continual then it is best to get it checked out by your doctor.
