I had stopped my periods for 11 months then started bleeding again for 2 months. I have now not seen again for 5 months. I am suffering bad night sweats, weight gain, but have been told by my GP they can not offer anything until I have had 1 year free from periods - any suggestions?

Changing periods are often one of the first signs that you are approaching the menopause and you are in the average age range, 45-55, so it is possible. Periods at this point can come and go with months in-between. This is also when you can start to experience menopause symptoms.
