We usually say that you are through the menopause after not having had any period for 2 years.
However, we do get women in your situation who go for two years or more without a period then either get a single one back again, or they restart for a few months.
This is often caused by things such as a 'last fling' by your hormones, stress, illness, strenuous exercise, dieting, or a change of diet - especially if you have improved it.
As you have said that it has been about 5 years, it might be best to get it checked out by your doctor as well.
In the meantime, have a look at a supplement containing soya isoflavones, as these are excellent for gently supporting oestrogen levels and may help with mood and fatigue.
